Weather Forecast for July 18: Flood in Odisha; Rain in Mumbai, Hyderabad

A Western Disturbance is persisting over North Pakistan. The system will give scattered rains over Jammu and Kashmir. While Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh will receive few moderate spells of rain. Scattered rains are also likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Coming to Central India, a cyclonic circulation is over South Pakistan and a trough is extending from West Rajasthan. Due to this, Saurashtra and Kutch will receive light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells. Flood conditions over Gujarat are likely to improve marginally.

Many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Marathwada will also receive light to moderate rains while moderate to heavy rains appearing over South Chhattisgarh.

Moving towards East India, a low-pressure area is over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha. A trough also persists over the region. With this, Coastal Odisha will receive moderate to heavy showers and flood conditions will persist over the state. Scattered rains are likely over Gangetic West Bengal and Northeast India. Weather will remain almost dry with isolated showers over Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.

The off-shore trough continues to persist from South Gujarat up to Kerala coast. Moderate to heavy rains are likely over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Karnataka.

Good showers are also likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including Hyderabad. Meanwhile, light to moderate showers are likely over Kerala. Also, scattered light rains are likely over Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema with isolated showers over Tamil Nadu.
