Weather Forecast for Jun 12: Rain in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad

The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced over some more parts of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. With this, the Northern limit of Monsoon is now passing through Mahabaleshwar, Vijapur, Kurnool, Ongole, Agartala, William Nagar and Kokhrajhar.

The off-shore trough is expected to remain active along the West Coast running from Konkan and Goa to Kerala. With this, heavy to extremely heavy rains are likely over southern parts of Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka, while light to moderate showers will appear over Coastal Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka and Kerala. Meanwhile, Mumbai and Bengaluru would see some good rainfall activity.

Scattered light rain is also expected over Telangana including Hyderabad, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Interior Tamil Nadu.

Coming to central region, South Gujarat, Southwest Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra may get to see light to moderate rains at many places. Isolated heavy spells also cannot be ruled out. Chances of light rain cannot be ruled out over Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region.

Moving to east and northeast side, a cyclonic circulation lies over Bihar. The low pressure area over South of Bangladesh has now intensified into a well-marked low. So with both these weather systems, moderate to heavy rains are expected over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata, while scattered light to moderate are anticipated over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and North Odisha. Jharkhand and Bihar may see isolated activity. Meanwhile, northeastern states will record good rain and thundershower activities.

Up in North, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir which would give light rains over the state along with the neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoining parts of Punjab and North Rajasthan. Besides this, a trough is extending from this system up to Bay of Bengal. In wake of this, dust storm or light thundershowers activity is possible over northern parts of Rajasthan and adjoining West Haryana. The weather over northwestern plains including Delhi-NCR will remain hot and dry.
