Weather Forecast for Mar 12: Rains, hailstorm to lash Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi

Beginning with North India, where a Western Disturbance lies over Jammu and Kashmir. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Northwest Rajasthan. We expect rains and snow to occur at many parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Scattered rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh. Meanwhile, fairly widespread rains and hailstorm is likely over Punjab, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, and North Haryana. Light scattered rains are likely over Northwest Rajasthan. Also, thunderstorms cannot be ruled out from Delhi and NCR.

Talking about East India, where a Trough has been persisting. Also, moisture feed is taking places from Bay of Bengal. Rain and thundershowers are possible over Jharkhand, parts of Odisha, East Uttar Pradesh and southern districts of Bihar. Scattered rains are possible over East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Isolated rains may occur over Gangetic West Bengal also. Kolkata will see a partly cloudy sky.

Coming on to Central India, where a Trough is extending from East Madhya Pradesh to Tamil Nadu across Vidarbha. Scattered rains and thundershowers are possible over East Madhya Pradesh and isolated pockets of Vidarbha. Weather of Gujarat, South Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh will remain dry, sunny and warm. Mumbai will also see a dry and sunny day.

Lastly in South India, where wind discontinuity is taking place. Therefore, isolated rains may occur over Kerala and interior Tamil Nadu. Weather of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and coastal Tamil Nadu will remain dry. Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru will also remain dry.
