Weather Forecast for Mar 16: Rain in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai; Delhi to be dry

Talking about the weather conditions across North India, the Western Disturbance prevailing over the eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir is moving away but the remnants of the system may give light rain over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the northwestern plains are likely to observe dry weather. However, the maximum and minimum temperatures have taken a dip across Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and Delhi and are now inching closer to normal.

Weather in Delhi is likely to remain dry but windy.

Moving to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Assam and Meghalaya region. This weather system is likely to give widespread light to moderate rain during the next 48 hours over Northeast India including Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

In Central India, a trough is seen extending from Chhattisgarh to North interior Karnataka across Vidarbha and Marathwada. Rain and thundershower activity is expected along this trough line during the next 24 hours. In fact, hailstorm also stands a chance and with this threat of crop damage looms large.

Mumbai may see light rains, with cloudy sky conditions.

Almost entire southern peninsula is likely to observe weather activity during the next 24 hours due to the various weather systems.

The well marked Low pressure area has weakened in to a cyclonic circulation. It is prevailing over the Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast. This weather system is likely to weaken. However it would give light to moderate rain along the West Coast.

After a long gap Chennai rains are, likely to make an appearance but the intensity will be light. In the same time Bengaluru is expected to record short spells of intense showers. Meanwhile, weather in Hyderabad will be mainly cloudy with a chance of light rains.

Meanwhile, a trough is extending from Telangana across, Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. In wake of this weather system, most parts of South India, are likely to receive rain and thundershower activity.

In fact, the anti-cyclone in the Bay of Bengal is providing moist winds in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu which would contribute in rains.
