Weather Forecast for May 14: Low pressure area likely in Bay of Bengal, Rain in Hyderabad, Bangalore

The two cyclonic circulations brewing in Bay of Bengal have now merged into one system and is now seen over south and southwest Bay of Bengal. The system is likely to intensify into well-marked low pressure area during next 24 hours and further into a depression and later on into a possible cyclone.

This system is also increasing moisture over Northeast region, due to which the prevailing cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya has become more marked. On Saturday, we can see increase in rain and thundershowers over northeastern states.

Moving to East India, the cyclonic circulation continues to persist over Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh. Trough from this system is also extending up to North Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and Odisha.
Accordingly, scattered light to moderate showers are likely over Bihar. While, isolated rain are expected all along the well-marked trough line.

Down South, the wind discontinuity is p from Vidarbha up to Tamil Nadu across Telangana, Rayalaseema and Interior Karnataka. With this, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalaseema may get isolated showers on Saturday. While, scattered light to moderate rains are likely over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka including Bangalore.

Meanwhile in North India, the Western Disturbance is marked over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining North Pakistan. With this, hills of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will continue with scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers on Saturday. While, plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will now have sunny and dry weather. This could also lead to marginal rise in day temperatures. However, chances of isolated thunderstorm or dust storm cannot be ruled out on Saturday.
