Weather Forecast for May 23: Low Pressure likely in Bay of Bengal; Rain in Bengaluru, Kerala

The Western Disturbance is moving away but it will continue to give light rains over some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab region. A trough is also extending up to Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, isolated rain with dust storm is likely over North Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh.

Coming to Central India, dry weather will persist with temperatures being above the normal levels. Heatwave conditions may persist over isolated pockets of Vidarbha.

Coming to East India, a trough is seen running from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Gangetic West Bengal. Also, a cyclonic circulation is seen over the Odisha region. With this, scattered light to moderate rains are likely over parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India.

Isolated rains may occur over some parts of Odisha. Meanwhile, interior parts of Odisha may reel under heatwave conditions.

Down South, a trough is extending up to South Interior Karnataka. With this, light to moderate rains are likely over Kerala and South Karnataka including Bengaluru. One or two places of Interior Tamil Nadu may also witness some rains.

Also, a cyclonic circulation has developed over Southeast Bay of Bengal. This system is likely to intensify into a low pressure area. Further intensification is also anticipated but we have to wait and watch the movement of the system.
