Weather Forecast for Nov 1: Northeast Monsoon to commence anytime soon, Delhi pollution to tighten its grip

October 31, 2018 11:12 AM |

The Northeast Monsoon 2018 is expected to set in anytime soon. Rains have already commenced in southern parts of the country and it will further increase once this Monsoon kicks off.

All thanks to the presence of the two cyclonic circulations, one over southcentral Bay of Bengal and another over Lakshadweep area. A trough is running between these two systems across South Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Due to this, light to moderate rains are expected at many places of these states.
South Karnataka might also see scattered rains, while isolated showers are likely over Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Heading towards East, a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over East Bangladesh and adjoining areas. This would give light to moderate rains over Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Isolated showers cannot be ruled over Nagaland and Meghalaya as well.

Meanwhile, there are chances of rains to decrease over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha but few places might experience light rains. East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand continue with dry and warm weather.

Similar conditions of dry and warm weather would prevail over entire Central India including Gujarat, South Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. But we now see a marginal fall in the minimums of East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Moving to North, the affecting Western Disturbance is now over Jammu and Kashmir with an induced Cyclonic Circulation over Central Pakistan. With this, rain intensity is expected to rise in Jammu and Kashmir with possible snowfall in the higher reaches.

Scattered rains would also be seen over Himachal Pradesh, while Uttarakhand might receive light rains over one or two places. However, northwestern plains including Delhi-NCR would continue to experience dry weather.

Also, no relief is in offing in the Delhi pollution, as air quality continues to be in very poor category over many locations in Delhi and severe in few pockets. In fact with time, it would only deteriorate in days to come.
