Weather Forecast for Oct 16: Rain in Bengaluru, Chennai; Dry weather in Delhi, Mumbai

Let’s begin with weather forecast for North India, a Western Disturbance is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir. With this, some clouds are foreseen over higher reaches of the state.

Else, no significant weather activity is anticipated over the northern hills as well as northwestern plains, thus dry and warm weather will continue over the mentioned regions.

Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over west, central as well as eastern parts of the country.

Coming to northeast region, an upper air trough persists close to Northeast India that will give light to moderate rains over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya.
Moving Down, a cyclonic circulation is seen over east central Arabian Sea off Konkan Coast. With this, light to moderate rains are likely over Konkan, South Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala. Few areas in these regions may also record heavy spells.

A well marked low pressure area is seen over Southwest Bay of Bengal. This weather feature will intensify further into depression and move northwards. A trough is also extending from this system up to Coastal Karnataka that will give light to moderate rains over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu with isolated heavy spells.

Light rains are also possible over parts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Odisha and South Telangana.

Talking about the weather conditions across major cities of India; Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad will see dry weather, while moderate spells are possible over Bengaluru. Chennai could witness light to moderate rains.
