Weather Forecast for Sep 22: Delhi rains to return; Rain in Lucknow, Mumbai

Let’s start with North India weather conditions first; a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Himachal Pradesh. An induced cyclonic circulation can be seen over Central Pakistan. Moreover, a well-marked low pressure area is over Southwest Uttar Pradesh.

Hence, moderate to heavy rains are expected over Uttarakhand, parts of Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rains are also possible over central districts of Uttar Pradesh, parts of East Punjab, Haryana and East Rajasthan.

Coming to east and northeast side, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim may see scattered light to moderate rains. While Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and northeastern states may witness light rains.

Moving to Central region, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells are expected over West Madhya Pradesh, while scattered light rain is likely over rest of Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh. The weather over Vidarbha, Marathwada and Gujarat will remain dry, with isolated rain activity.

An off shore trough is seen extending from South Gujarat to Konkan. Thus, light rain with one or two moderate spells may occur over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Light rain is also possible over Kerala and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Weather of Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu will be dry.

Talking about the weather over major cities of India, Delhi will witness moderate to heavy rains, whereas Lucknow may observe moderate showers.

Meanwhile, Mumbai and Kolkata would record light rains but Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai will remain dry.
