Starting with central india a Cyclonic Circulation is over East Rajasthan and adjoining area. A confluence zone is over Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershower activities in many parts of West and North Madhya Pradesh as well as Rajasthan. Due to northerly cold winds, minimum temperature of West Rajasthan and Gujarat may drop further by 1-2 degree Celsius. The weather of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh will remain dry.
Up in the north a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining area. Therefore, by the late evening hours of January 15, light rain and snow may commence over Jammu and Kashmir, parts of Ladakh and isolated rain may occur over Himachal Pradesh, Northern districts of Punjab and Haryana. The weather of Uttrakhand, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh will remain dry. In the eastern parts of the country an anti-cyclone is over Gangetic West Bengal. Therefore, we expect weather of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal to remain dry.
The minimum temperature of Odisha and Jharkhand may increase by 1-2 degrees Celsius. However, there may be a marginal fall in the minimums over East Uttar Pradesh. Moderate to dense fog is likely in many parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The weather of Northeast India will remain dry but isolated light rain may occur in East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Down south there is no significant weather activity expected over South peninsula. We expect marginal increase in the minimum temperature over Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh due to humid winds from the Bay of Bengal. The weather of entire South Peninsula including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will remain dry.
