July 12, 2019 6:43 PM |

Presently, a Low-Pressure Area is over Northeast Uttar Pradesh and a Trough is extending from North Punjab to Northeast India across the foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Hence, we expect heavy to very heavy rains over the northeastern districts of Uttar Pradesh like Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Gonda as well as many districts of North Bihar right from Paschim Champaran to Kishanganj.

The flood-situation in Assam will become grimmer as heavy rains are expected to continue over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. While scattered rains are expected over rest Northeast India, parts of Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal.

In North, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoining North Punjab. A Trough is running along the foothills of Punjab and Haryana, thus light to moderate rains with few heavy spells are possible over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, northern districts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Places like Ludhiana, Patiala, Chandigarh and Bareilly will be affected by these rains.

Weather over southern districts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, South Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan would be dry.

Finally, down South, a feeble Trough is running along Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Good rains to continue over North Coastal Karnataka with scattered spells over Kerala. Another Trough is running along Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Hence, good rains are expected to be seen over Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
