Starting with South India, Fresh Monsoon surge is likely to give heavy to very heavy rains over many parts of Kerala and in some districts of coastal Karnataka. Heavy rains are also possible over interior Tamil Nadu adjacent to Kerala. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains will continue over interior parts of Karnataka including Bengaluru. Due to the Cyclonic Circulation over South Odisha, rain activities will increase further over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including Hyderabad.
Coming on to East India, here a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over South Odisha. A Trough is extending from Punjab to West Bengal across East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Therefore, light to moderate rains are expected over South Odisha. Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and parts of Assam. Scattered rains will continue over the rest of Northeast India. Light rains are likely at a few places over Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar.
Talking about Central India, we expect rains to now increase over Vidarbha and Marathwada. Light to moderate rains are expected over Vidarbha, Marathwada as well as Madhya Maharashtra. Scattered rains are possible over South Chhattisgarh and southern districts of Madhya Pradesh. Light rains are likely at a few places over North Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. Isolated rains are likely over South Gujarat. Weather of Kutch and West Rajasthan will however remain dry.
Lastly in North India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Punjab and adjoining Haryana. A Trough is extending to East India across West Uttar Pradesh. A feeble Western Disturbance is over North Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan. Thus, light to moderate rains are expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand as well as over parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. One or two short spells of rain may occur over North Rajasthan and Delhi as well.
