Weather Forecast July 7: Extremely heavy rains to lash parts of Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Bihar

In East and Northeast, the Cyclonic Circulation is over east Uttar Pradesh and a trough line is extending from Central Pakistan to Arunachal Pradesh. Another branch is going towards Northeast Bay of Bengal across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Due to shifting of the Trough and Cyclonic Circulation, moderate to heavy rainfall activity is likely to increase over East Uttar Pradesh, North Jharkhand, Bihar, Central parts of West Bengal.

Chances of isolated very heavy rains is also possible around the foothills. Scattered light to moderate rains is likely over South Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over East Assam and southerly moderate winds will enhance the activities over most parts of northeast states with few heavy to very heavy spells mainly over Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim along with West Assam.

In Central India, rainfall would decrease however, few moderate spells are likely over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh and along the North Konkan coast. While light to moderate rains are also possible over Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Gujarat. Up in the North, the Cyclonic Circulation is over North Pakistan and a trough is extending from this system across Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. East Rajasthan is likely to record light to moderate rains at some places with heavy over Central Rajasthan. Short spell of rain and thundershowers are also possible over the foothills of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar. Pradesh. Localised development might affect parts of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi with dry weather over West Rajasthan. Activity would enhance over South Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Moderate spell of rain and thundershowers are possible over the area with chances of isolated heavy spells.

Finally, down South, Karnataka coast and Kerala would receive moderate to heavy spells as a trough persists from Karnataka to Kerala. while, scattered rains are likely over interior parts of Karnataka, Telangana and North Andhra Pradesh with isolated moderate spells over North Telangana and North Andhra Pradesh coast. Subdued Monsoon activities will be seen over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema.
