Weather Forecast June 5: Rain in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad

A north-south trough is extending from Central India to South Interior Karnataka. Another trough is seen running from Lakshadweep to Coastal Karnataka. Therefore, we expect scattered rain and thundershowers to occur over many parts of Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated rains will also occur over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. One or two afternoon spells may also occur over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave will also occur in few places of Telangana.

In East/Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Bangladesh. Thus, we expect good rains to continue over the northeastern states along with parts of West Bengal and Sikkim. East Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha may also witness rains. Easterly winds will continue over the Indo-Gangetic Plains. Hence, temperatures of East Uttar Pradesh are expected to remain below 40 degrees Celsius.

In Central India, a trough is extending from Northeast Madhya Pradesh to South India. Therefore, we expect scattered rains over South Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Konkan & Goa. South Chhattisgarh may also witness isolated rains. Heat wave conditions will continue over many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, South Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Up in North India, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan and adjoining North Rajasthan. Due to these weather systems, light to moderate rains will occur in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Punjab. Isolated dust storm activity followed by light rain may also occur over Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.
