Weather Forecast Sep 8: Rains ahead for Maharashtra coast, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh

Beginning with Central India! At present, the Axis of Monson Trough is passing from Rajasthan up to Northcentral Bay of Bengal. Another branch is moving towards Northeast states. Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over North Odisha now lies over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. Thus, rains will now increase over southern parts of Madhya Pradesh as well as over Gujarat.Moderate to heavy spells are possible over here. On the other hand, rains will now decrease over Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. However, due to the off-shore Trough along the West coast, Maharashtra coast including Mumbai might receive moderate rains.

Moving towards South, the Off-Shore Trough will keep affecting the weather over this region. Rain activities will now reduce over most parts of Kerala. North Kerala might receive moderate rains, while rest parts of the state might receive light rains. Coastal Karnataka will also receive moderate rains. Light rains are possible at some places over North Telangana, and North Karnataka. While Interior Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema will see mainly dry weather.Day will remain comfortable over Bengaluru, Kochi and Hyderabad with chances of patchy light rains. Weather will remain warm and humid over Chennai.

Talking about East and Northeast India, rainfall activity will now enhance over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and East Jharkhand. However, rains will reduce over Odisha. Mainly light to moderate rains are possible at many places over Bihar, West Bengal, Northeast Odisha and Eastern parts of Jharkhand. Scattered moderate rains with isolated heavy spells are possible over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, West Assam and Meghalaya. Light to moderate rains are likely over rest parts of the Northeast states. Patna as well Kolkata will witness light to moderate rains.

Lastly in North India, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving across Jammu and Kashmir. Rains are likely at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, while scattered rain activity is likely over Uttarakhand. East Rajasthan will continue with light to moderate rains while West Rajasthan will remain mainly dry and hot. Warm and humid weather is likely over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Patchy rains possible at a few places over West Uttar Pradesh. Chandigarh and Jammu might see very light rains. Delhi’s weather will remain very warm and humid.Patchy rains cannot be ruled out over here. As a relief air quality will remain good over the national capital.
