Bangladesh vs India, 2nd ODI, Dhaka: Weather likely to play along ahead of historic clash

June 21, 2015 12:08 PM |

India vs Bangaldesh 2nd ODI Dhaka WeatherThe second ODI between India and Bangladesh is set to be played at Dhaka today. The match is scheduled to start at 2.30 pm IST and the home side currently leads the series 1-0 with two more matches to go. If Bangladesh seal a victory in the second ODI, they’ll create history by recording their maiden series win against two-time world champions India.

Rain is expected to cause a couple of short interruptions in the first half. But thereafter, cloudy conditions will persist with little or no chance of rain. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh but an active weather system in the Bay of Bengal has kept frequency of rain showers under check.

The one-off Test match between the two sides wasn’t so lucky. Rain caused multiple interruptions on all five days and less than 200 overs were bowled in the Test match. But the first ODI brought good news for cricket fans. As predicted by Skymet Meteorological Division in India, there was only one short interruption during the first ODI.

Bangladesh currently lead the three match series and if they win today, they’ll take the series. The home side routed Pakistan 3-0 in an ODI series earlier in the year and continued with their good run against India as well. MS Dhoni and his men are now in a tight spot. If they lose the game today, they lose the three match series.

Conditions will remain moderately humid but largely comfortable. Overcast conditions will preside over the proceedings. Weather is expected to play along as both teams come out with a lot on the line. Skymet will keep you updated on weather, cricket, and more as the excitement touches a new high.
