WorldT20: Virtual Quarterfinals at Mohali as India takes on Australia

The weather over the beautiful small city of Mohali will be dry. The temperatures will remain comfortable in the mid 20s.

Humidity levels around the city will be around 40-45%. Overall a dry and comfortable weather will be hovering around the city.

There was a Western Disturbance that could have affected the match, but the system has moved on and the game will go on without any interruption.

The Match Preview

India versus Australia in the group stage is the kind of a match you wait for years. Back in 2011, India overcame the strong Australian side to qualify for the semis in the World Cup. It looks like history has come knocking on India’s door once again as it faces a similar situation.

Both India and Australia wouldn’t have expected to be in a must win situation. But New Zealand’s stunning form spoiled the party for both the teams to secure a spot in the semis. Now, with just a game to spare, only one will be able to grab the second spot.

The Australian side looked tough since the start of the tournament with only hiccup was New Zealand; with Aaron Finch back in the squad they are hopeful for a win today in Mohali.

The problem is with India and its approach throughout the tournament. After defeating Pakistan comfortably India has struggled. A defeat against New Zealand and close shave against Bangladesh doesn’t make them a title contender. They need to put up a show of a lifetime and beat Australia to keep their hopes alive for the semis.

The teams qualified for the semifinals are brilliantly in-form West Indies, New Zealand and England. India has to justify their top spot in T20 rankings. MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin and Yuvraj Singh will be key players with Ashish Nehra’s experience coming in handy.
