The rainfall activities have reduced over the state of Chhattisgarh since the last few days. In consequence to this during the course of last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Ambikapur recorded rains to the tune of 18 mm, whereas Jagdalpur and Pendra saw a mere of 2 mm and 1 mm, respectively.

Nevertheless, now in view of the low-pressure area over South Uttar Pradesh and the axis of Monsoon trough that is running just north of Chhattisgarh, we can expect moderate to heavy showers over the northern chunk of the state including places like Ambikapur, Koriya, Balrampur and Surguja during the next 48 hours.

On the other hand, only light rains would be seen over the southern areas of Chhattisgarh such as Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada during this time period.

After the span of 48 hours, the intensity of the showers would decrease considerably over the entire Chhattisgarh, but then again isolated weather activities cannot be ruled out.

Weatherman at Skymet Weather is anticipating that rainfall would once again pick up speed over the state of Chhattisgarh by the end of July, when moderate spells can be expected. As on July 24, Chhattisgarh stands rain surplus by 6%.
