In span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Nowgong reported rains to the tune of 38 mm, Umaria 26 mm, Hosangabad 8 mm, Raisen 7 mm, Pachmarhi 7 mm, Sidhi 5 mm, Dhar 5 mm, Satna 4 mm and Guna 2 mm.

At this time, a low pressure area has developed over Northwest Bay of Bengal. It is moving in the westerly direction and so, we can expect rainfall activities to rise over many parts of Madhya Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

During this course of time, cities like Betul, Hosangabad, Jabalpur, Umaria, Damoh, Dewas and Seoni would zest good Monsoon rain and thundershower. Whereas districts namely Ujjain, Ratlam and Indore may have scattered light to moderate rain.

Therefore, we can expect rain and thundershower to continue over many parts of Madhya Pradesh till August 16.

Thereafter, the intensity of rain may decrease to some degree, but then there is another weather system developing in  Bay of Bengal that would travel towards Madhya Pradesh. Hence, rains will once more pick up pace over East Madhya Pradesh around August 19.

Thus, the coming week is going to be adequate in term of rain over the entire state of Madhya Pradesh.

As on August 13, the state of Madhya Pradesh stands rain deficit by 11%, whereas East and West Madhya Pradesh by 11% and 10%, respectively.
