After flooding rains, weather to go dry over Rajasthan

August 17, 2022 2:13 PM |

Rajasthan witnessed flooding rains during the last week of July. Since the last few days also, heavy rain is lashing many districts of South Rajasthan. Parts of Banswara have witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall. The monthly rain average for west Rajasthan is very less but during this monsoon season, western parts of Rajasthan has witnessed 72% surplus rain until now. On the other hand, east Rajasthan is surplus by 24%.

Almost all the low-pressure areas over the Bay of Bengal during July and August have travelled in westerly direction and reached Gujarat and South Rajasthan. That is the reason southwest south and Southeast Rajasthan have been witnessing heavy downpour.

The well-marked low-pressure area over Rajasthan will move in North West direction and will get weaken into a low pressure area by today evening. There may be scattered rainfall over southwest Rajasthan until August 17. Expect the weather to go dry over most parts of the state between August 18 and 20.

Rain may resume by August 21st over Eastern parts of Rajasthan with the approach of another weather system. Subsequently many other districts of the state also start receiving scattered rainfall. This monsoon seems to be very good for Rajasthan in terms of rainfall.
