The city of Bengaluru enjoys pleasant weather conditions for almost the entire year. The only two months when the city observes hot days are April and May. In fact, even then, the evenings become pleasant.
The Monsoon and the post-Monsoon months are not heavy rain months for Bengaluru. In fact, heavy showers even during this time remain far away. The number of rainy days in a month witness a slight increase but rains remain on the moderate side only.
However, this time, the Post Monsoon rains remained quite heavy for Bengaluru. In fact, during the month of September when Monsoon is on the retreating mode, Bengaluru recorded a whopping 556.3 mm of rain against its monthly average of 212.8 mm. Meanwhile, rains in October were also way more than usual when the city recorded 386.1 mm against its monthly average rains of 168.3 mm.

Thereafter, rains took a backseat and the city recorded very little rain in November. December was also not too rainy for the city and only the first and the second day of the month was when Bengaluru recorded rains.

Thus, since about two months, dry weather has been prevailing over the city of Bengaluru. While this happens to be a lean phase for the city but as compared to the last two years, January has been completely dry. In 2016, the city had recorded 4.8 mm of rain and year 2017 had seen a few days wherein traces of rain was observed.
However, now, the city is all set to witness some rainfall activity between February 7 and 9. These rains will occur due to the extension of the circulations which usually form in the Bay of Bengal.
Thus, light rains with a few moderate showers are expected over Bengaluru. The day temperatures are expected to witness a slight drop. However, nights which have already been recording low minimums may see a slight rise.
