After thunderstorms, summer to set in over Delhi

The month of March is generally a comfortable month for Delhi as it is then when winters are just on the verge of bidding adieu and summers are all set to step in. The maximums during this time of the year usually remain under 30 degrees Celsius with minimums mostly settling in mid-teens. Delhi also accounts for a fair amount of rainfall during this month.

The month of February remained parched for the capital of the country and its adjoining Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. In fact, it seems that March is also following similar footprints with no rainfall being recorded by any of the observatories in Delhi despite some thunderstorm activities occurring on March 4.

Both the day and night temperatures across Delhi were on a rise and the maximums were settling above normal by six to seven degrees Celsius for the last four to five days. The cloudy weather and thunderstorm activity that was reported in parts of Delhi and NCR on March 4 followed by some drizzles did bring the temperatures a few notches down. However, these were not successful in bringing the mercury levels close to normal.

The reason for this weather activity during the afternoon or early evening hours yesterday was the formation of an induced cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan and adjoining South Haryana.

As per Skymet Weather, the cyclonic circulation has fizzled out and thus the weather of Delhi and NCR once again has begun to clear up. The cloudy skies were again swapped by bright sunny skies.

As of now, no major changes are expected in the weather of Delhi and NCR. Moreover, both the day and night temperatures are expected to rise further marginally.

Hence, Delhiites would once again have to bear with the warm and sunny days with the possibility of temperatures rising even more as the days pass by.
