In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Ahmedabad recorded a whopping 109 mm of rainfall. Adjoining cities including Rajkot and others also witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall activity.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of a low pressure area over Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Along with this, the off shore trough has also been persisting along the West Coast right from South Gujarat coast up to Kerala region.

Due to these weather features, moisture incursion has been taking place resulting in cloud development and rains.
