Madhya Pradesh rains

The state of Madhya Pradesh has been experiencing good spells of rain and thundershower activities for the last many days now. The central and western areas of the state, in particular, are experiencing moderate to heavy rains.

Despite good rains, West Madhya Pradesh is rain deficient by 3% while East Madhya Pradesh by 20% until July 27.

In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Saturday, Bhopal has recorded 120.9 mm of rainfall, followed by Betul 61.6 mm, Ujjain 28.6 mm and Dhar 20.3 mm of rainfall.

At present, the axis of Monsoon Trough is passing through extreme northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation as an upper air system is lying over Northwest Madhya Pradesh. This system is moving westwards.

In addition to these systems, the Low-Pressure Area is lying over Jharkhand and adjoining parts of Odisha, which will be moving towards Madhya Pradesh.

In the wake of all these systems, moderate rains will lash many parts of Madhya Pradesh, particularly the eastern, central and southern parts of the state. These activities are likely during the next two to three days.

Places such as Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Ujjain, Guna, Ashoknagar, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Rewa, Mandla, Betul and Khargone will observe moderate rains. Other parts of the state will continue to experience light rains only.

All these rains are highly beneficial for all types of crops. Water levels are still below the danger levels in most of the rivers.
