Mumbai Rains

Mumbai Rains this time have had a fabulous month as far as July rains are concerned. The month of June was also a good one with the city recording 517 mm of rains against the normal of 493.1 mm. Moreover, the city saw hefty showers on the first two days of July itself witnessing close to 500 mm. These rains brought water logging and many other woes that caused the city to be on a standstill.

In fact, the city surpassed its monthly mean in just about the first ten days of the month. After that, heavy Mumbai rains did take a backseat for about more than ten days getting heavy once again. In fact, last weekend saw hefty showers of 219 mm once again.

While the last couple of days did not see very heavy rains, today, showers have been quite intense with the city recording 52 mm of rains already in 6 hours time.

With this, the total rains for Mumbai had reached a whopping 1451 mm, which was the second highest rain amount in July for Mumbai ever. The highest July rains for Mumbai has been at 1468.5 mm, which was recorded in the year 2014.

However, with more rains in the last few hours, Mumbai has just been a few millimeters short of making history with July rains. So far, Mumbai has recorded 1463 mm rains so far, which makes 2019 the second rainiest July ever for the city of Mumbai.

As per weathermen, the next few days will be slightly on the lower side and no heavy rain packed action is expected at least for the next couple of days
