Patna rain rain in Bihar_DNA India 600

Southwest Monsoon started with a rainy note for Bihar but the intensity of rains reduced over the state gradually. However, on and off rains continued over many parts of Bihar. Since last few days’ heavy showers have not been witnessed by the state. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday, only the capital Patna received light rain of 2.4 mm.

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for these rains can be attributed to the formation a low-Pressure area and a well marked low which has formed south of Bihar at the same time over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. But now both the systems have moved away.

Due to the absence of any significant weather system, we do not expect any increase in rains for at least next two days. But presently, the axis of Monsoon trough is expected to shift towards Indo Gangetic plains. Therefore, Bihar may witness an increase in rains from July 30 till August 2 or 3.

During this period, it is anticipated that moderate spells with one or two heavy spells over Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, and Chapra. Gradually, the axis of Monsoon trough will shift over the foothills and hence, rain intensity over Supaul, Motihari, Champaran districts is likely to increase.

Skymet Weather predict that the month of August will start with a rainy note for Bihar.
