November 21, 2016 4:11 PM |

Bangalore to witness driest November in a decadeBangalore rains have disappeared and haven’t made a grand appearance at all during the month of November. So much so that the city has only been able to record nominal rain of a mere 1.6 mm. Last year, the city had received almost 20 times rainfall in November as has been recorded this year.

In fact, last year the city had recorded a whopping 296 mm of rainfall which happens to be the highest in more than a century. While the city has witnessed very little rains during a few years in the last decade, it hasn’t been in single digits.

The least amount of rains that has been recorded in November in the last decade has been in 2012 and that too 12.5 mm of rainfall. The monthly rainfall happens to be 103.2 mm of rainfall for November. This year, Northeast Monsoon rains have been a disappointment for Bangalore.

The month of October was also a letdown in terms of rain as the capital city of Karnataka had recorded a mere 11.2 mm. October was one of the driest in the last ten years. The city is also experiencing above normal maximum temperatures.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, no significant rains are expected for the city of Bangalore which is why it is on its way of becoming the driest November in at least a decade. The rainfall figures may remain in single digits only.
