Bengaluru surpasses monthly mean in 10 days, rains to reduce

Bengaluru has been witnessing varied intensity Monsoon rains from the past one week. As predicted by Skymet weather, the ‘IT city’ recorded good rains in the past day. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday Bengaluru city witnessed moderate intensity rain to the tune of 15.3 mm.

In the same span of time, Bengaluru Airport Observatory witnessed heavy rain of 31.8 mm. These hefty Monsoon showers can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation that lies over west central Bay of Bengal off North Tamil Nadu coast and adjoining parts of South Andhra Pradesh.

This weather system is moving gradually westwards and is increasing moisture level over North Tamil and South Karnataka. This weather activity will result in moderate rainfall over Bengaluru. These rainfall activities will continue for the next 36 hours. Thereafter, the rain intensity is likely to decrease slightly. However, light rains will continue.

Weather is likely to remain humid but the warm and sultry weather conditions have taken a back seat. The day temperatures will be recorded between 26-27°C. While night temperatures will be recorded between 19-20°C. As on September 29, Bengaluru urban is rain surplus by 47 percent and Bengaluru rural by 41 percent rains.
