Bhagalpur, Patna, Ambikapur, Bilaspur brace for Monsoon rains

Rain in BiharDuring the last few days, North Chhattisgarh and North Odisha have received moderate rain spells at many places. Remaining parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha also received scattered rains. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday Ambikapur received 44.6 mm of rain. Jharsuguda 36.3 mm and Bhgalpur 31.1 mm.

As per Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to well-marked Low Pressure area over Jharkhand and adjoining areas that has now strengthened into a depression and is now over northwest Jharkhand and adjoining Bihar.

Now, we expect this system to gradually move in northwest direction. Therefore, the intensity of rains will reduce over Odisha but moderate to heavy rains are expected over northern and central parts of Chhattisgarh. Places like Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Balrampur, and Korba may witness good rains.

The rain intensity will be less over places like Bijapur and Bastar. In the next 24 hours, we expect rains to reduce significantly over these states and only isolated rains will continue.

We expect rains to increase over Bihar and southern districts may receive heavy rains with one or two heavy spells. These rains are are expected to continue for the next 24 to 48 hours.

The axis of Monsoon trough will also move in north direction gradually. Due to its affect, scattered rains will continue over many parts of Bihar and by July 30, foothills of Bihar will also start receive good rains.
