Ideally, these cities are not under cold wave conditions but still have minimum temperatures below 5°C. Nowgong, Khajuraho, Gwalior, Rewa, Raisen, and Mandla have around 4°C minimum temperatures. At present, dry and cold winds from the northwest are blowing over most parts of the state. These winds are traveling from the Snowclad Mountains of Jammu and Kashmir.

Due to these winds, the temperatures are very low in most parts of the state. Moreover, the sky is also clear and due to the release of earth’s energy during the night in the form of longwave radiation, the night temperatures are falling. As per weathermen, the wind speed has increased and we do not expect any further fall in the minimum temperatures but the winter chill will stay for another two to three days.
