Chennai all set to receive prolonged spell of rains

October 5, 2021 5:39 PM |

The month of September for the city of Chennai has mostly been a dry one with just three to four rainy days. In fact, the city recorded less than 100 mm of rains last month against its September average of 147.7 mm.

Chennai rains have begun to make regular appearances since the beginning of the month of October. In fact, the capital city of Tamil Nadu has been receiving rain on every single day of some intensity whatsoever.

Moreover, in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Chennai has recorded moderate showers to the tune of 21 mm.

At present, a cyclonic Circulation is centred off the coast of Tamil Nadu. Along with this, another cyclonic circulation is off the Arabian Sea. Both these systems are complimenting each other and are acting in tandem.

Now, due to the complimentary nature of these two systems, Chennai and adjoining areas of Tamil Nadu are set to see a prolonged spell of rains of varied intensity for at least the next four to five days.
