At present, the world is surrounded by some unusual events. The reason being global warming increasing at an alarming rate.

Here are some unexpected events that are happening around us-

1. Hawaii Snowfall

The month of February witnessed Hawaii covered in snow due to a massive storm hit the state leading to loss of life and property. Snowfall in Hawaii, went up to 6,200 feet, which is not a regular affair.
This snowfall occurred in wake of a low-pressure area that got separated from the main flow, popularly known as a Kona Low. According to a data, the speed of winds went up to 70mph in some places, and the state was predicting coastal flooding.

2. Himalayan glaciers melting

The glaciers of Himalayas are melting at a faster pace. All because of alarming global emissions. It is expected that two-thirds of Himalayan glaciers, would melt by 2100 if global emissions are not controlled in time. The deadly melting would claim 1.3 billion lives.

3. Catastrophic collapse of the ecosystems leading to insects die

According to the first global scientific review, the world’s insects are on the verge of extinction, thereby leading to a “catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems". Reports have suggested, it is not only the big animals who are facing extinction, more than 40% of insects are extincting, while one third are endangered. The main cause being heavy use of harmful pesticides.

4. Polar bears entering towns in North Russia.

Due to air and water temperatures rising, the Arctic ice is melting at a fast pace. Likewise, the melting of the Greenland ice sheet is occurring due to disturbance in weather temperatures. As the polar bears' natural ecosystem have been disturbed, they have been forced to step in towns, in search of food.

5. Australia heatwave

Australia had witnessed mercury reaching up to 49.1℃ in the month of January and February, thereby Australia facing extreme weather conditions. The situation became that deadly that a health warning was issued across New South Wales. Moreover, the citizens complained of a number of heat related problems such as nausea, cramps, breathing.

5. Extreme weather conditions turning Arctic brown

The region has witnessed extreme weather situations like soaring temperatures in the winters, with no layer of snow in order to to protect plants of the Arctic, thereby leading to plant continually lose water, resulting in the death of many plants.

6. Russia witnessing toxic black snow

It was recorded that this winters, due to the high level of pollution in Siberia, the snowfall didn’t occur as white, but as black as a toxic.

This happened in wake of, the coal dust in the air which opened from coal pits and failure of factories, leading to illnesses, cancer, and tuberculous.

7. Hailstorm turning Noida, Delhi-NCR white

In February, parts of Delhi-NRC faced a series of hailstorm. The temperatures were recorded above normal by 6℃. In wake of the icy cold winds and low temperatures, altogether with western disturbance bringing rains over Northwest India.

8. Chicago turned colder than Antarctica

The temperatures hit an all time recorded in Chicago this January. With temperature hovering at -39℃, Chicago was felt colder than Antarctica, parts of Alaska and the North Pole. This all happened in wake of Polar Vortex around the North Pole region in densely populated areas thereby causing disruptions to life and property.
