Moreover, the Cyclonic Storm throttled the state with very strong winds and three digit rains in many parts. The adjoining states of Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal also recorded hefty showers since last night.

The system is now expected to track along the coast before it recurves and gives heavy rains over many parts of Bangladesh as well as Northeast India, particularly the regions of Tripura and Mizoram in the next 24 to 48 hours.
