During the last 24 hours, Western Himalayas experienced a mainly dry weather with a partly cloudy sky. Minimum temperature in Shimla remained at 9.5°C, Chamba saw 8.5°C, Dharamsala 8.5°C, Manali 1.2°C, Kullu 6°C, Dehradun 11.4°C, Haridwar 10.6°C, Nainital 8°C, Musorie 7.4°C, Gulmarg -3.5°C, Jammu 13.5°C, Leh -1.3°C, Pahalgam 0.7°C and the city of Srinagar saw 3.2°C.

A weather system in the form of a Western Disturbance is present in the Himalayas over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region. This system is further moving in East-Northeastward direction.

Due to this approaching weather system, light to moderate rain and snowfall activities will affect many places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The higher reaches of both the states are likely to experience snowfall while rest places will experience rain and thundershower activities.

Due to these weather activities, in the next 24 hours, the day temperatures are likely to decrease considerably. While night temperatures will remain stationary or will show a very marginal or minute increase due to the clouding.
