rain-in-OdishaAs predicted by Skymet Weather, the well-marked low pressure area in west-central Bay of Bengal has finally intensified into a depression. However, the system has practically remained stationary during the last 24 hours.

Thus, due to its slow movement, the depression may strengthen further into a deep depression bur for a shorter duration as the coast is also not very far away.

At present, the system is centered at latitude 16.5°N and Longitude 86.5°E, around 375 km south-southeast of Puri and 480 km south of Chandbali in Odisha.
