Dry and hot week ahead for Northwest India

Heat wave has abated from entire country including Northwest India in the beginning of May. Pre monsoon dust storm thunderstorm and thunder showers were instrumental in bringing down the temperatures. The Western disturbance induced cyclonic circulation over northern plains as well as a draught which was extending at the long the Indo-Gangetic plains are now going to become in significant.

Day temperatures will rise gradually over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and most parts of West Uttar Pradesh. A fresh western disturbance approach Western Himalayas by May 12 or 13. But this Western disturbance will be weak and will not be capable of giving any significant weather activities over The Hills. Its impact will be negligible over Northern Plains of the country. Therefore, dry and hot winds from west and northwest direction will continue. The skies will be clear and whether will be Dry.

South Haryana parts of Rajasthan and isolated pockets of Southwest Uttar Pradesh may witness heat wave conditions by May 8 or 9. Heat wave may make a comeback over Delhi and NCR by May 10. We do not expect any pre monsoon weather activity over northwest India until May 15 or 16. We will also witness prolonged dry spell and heat wave conditions which we have witnessed in the month of March and April.
