As per Skymet Weather, it is anticipated that Chennai rains will not make a comeback for at least a week. The monthly average rain for the city is 29 mm. As there are very bleak chances of rain, hence it is expected that it would not surpass the monthly rain average this January.

Due to the extended dry spell, the maximum temperatures have risen across the city. Chennai being a coastal station, humidity levels are also on a high. The weather is likely to remain warm and humid and at times hot during the day. The only relieving factor would be the winds in the range of 20 – 30 kmph afternoon onwards.

In fact, a thin layer of cloud cover will also persist over the city for a few days. The minimum temperatures would hover around low 20s and maximums around 30°C.

As per weathermen, February and March are considered to be the least rainy months for Chennai and with this, the temperatures also rise. Hence, the remaining days of January will be the most comfortable phase for the Chennaiites.
