Parts of South and Central Pakistan have been witnessing widespread weather activity in terms of rain and dust storm during the last 24 hours. As the country enters pre-monsoon season, such weather activities will now become more frequent over the region.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a low level cyclonic circulation prevailing over Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan region in India had given moderate to light rain in Pakistan.
The system had also triggered a massive dust storm over the southern parts of the country, accompanied with strong winds gusting from 50 kmph to 70 kmph.
After lashing parts of Pakistan, the severe dust storm had then hit parts of West Rajasthan. The storm had first hit Jaisalmer around 2 pm with wind speed of 80 kmph, later shifting to Phalodi and Barmer by 3:30 pm with winds gusting up to 90 kmph and 80 kmph, respectively.
Any weather activity over Pakistan is of great significance to India, as majority of the weather activity over North and Central India is governed by the weather systems travelling from Pakistan region. Every western disturbances and cyclonic circulations that affect Northwest India comes through Pakistan.
