Few more Monsoon showers on cards for Bihar and Jharkhand

Rain in Bihar

Bihar and Jharkhand have been receiving decent amount of rain since last two days. In fact, in last 24 hours also few scattered light to moderate showers have blessed the two states.

A trough is seen extending from Bihar to Andhra Pradesh across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. In the wake of this weather system, both the states have managed to witness some light to moderate showers in last 24 hours.

As of now, it is predicted that rains over both Bihar and Jharkhand are likely to continue in scattered phase, mainly in light to moderate intensity for the next 24 hours as well. Thereafter, these rains will take a break and reduce gradually.

Moreover, the cyclonic circulation which is over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha is expected to become less marked. Furthermore, the trough across East India is also likely to become insignificant. Due to these weather system, only light spells are foreseen to appear over Bihar and Jharkhand.

In the last 24 hours as well, only few light to scattered moderate spells were observed over parts of Bihar and Jharkhand. In fact, Daltonganj in Jharkhand recorded heavy showers of 96.6 mm.

Rainfall recorded in parts of Bihar in a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday include Gaya with 30.8 mm rains, Purnea 2.6 mm, Bhagalpur 2.1 mm, Chapra 22.8 mm, Motihari 2.6 mm and Patna recorded 24.5 mm of showers.
