Fog to further reduce in Delhi, sunny sky to prevail

Dense fog which usually occurs during the winter months of January has remained far and few from showing up in Delhi and its adjoining areas. In fact, Delhiites are waking up to chilly mornings while spending their afternoons amidst bright sunshine.

However, moderate fog with dense in some isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR were still reported today. Along with foggy mornings, Delhi and NCR have also reported a drop in the minimums.

Though the minimums as recorded early Saturday morning by the Safdarjung Observatory was 5.5°C which plunged from 8°C that the observatory recorded on January 12. On the other hand, the maximum temperatures of the city rose by 1 degree and settled at 23.7°C from 22.7°C on January 12.

In addition to this, the winter rains that the city usually records have also remained absent. It is being assumed that Delhi will be witnessing the longest dry spell of winters.

As per Skymet Weather, as of now, the northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen over the region thereby resulting in an improvement in the fog conditions. Thus, shallow fog with moderate in pockets is what is in store for Delhi and NCR for the next 24 hours.

The minimum temperature is also expected to remain under the same bracket or may even witness a marginal rise. The sky is likely to remain mainly sunny during the afternoon hours in Delhi and NCR. The pollution levels will also witness improvement.
