Ganesh Visarjan marks the end of the 10-Day Ganesh Festival that is celebrated with immense pleasure and joy in the state of Maharashtra. While the last day of the festivity is today, people across the state are gearing up for the Big-Day.
Ganesh Chaturthi began on a rainy note on August 25 for most parts of the state including the national capital Mumbai. In fact, Mumbai has remained in the deluge for the last many days wherein the city observed record-breaking heavy to extremely heavy rains. However, despite heavy showers, the joy of Ganesh Puja was no less for Mumbaikars.
As the weather is now somewhat sorted and rain water is slowly seeping in, Mumbaikars are both excited and enthusiastic to bid farewell to Lord Ganesh today. To safely immerse Ganpati Maharaj, and to avoid chaos on roads, several routes in the city will be closed today.
Similarly, people in Pune are also blanketed under tight security as over lakh of devotees are set to throng immersion Ghats to bid adieu to the Lalbaug Cha Raja, Lord Ganesh.

In fact, to add on to the excitement, the weather is also making major contributions. Almost every year, most parts of the state observe rain on the final day of the 10-Day long festival. However, this year, rain gods seem to show some kindness and are no more showering upon parts of the state giving the visarjan ceremony a good start.
As per Skymet Weather, the weather conditions across different parts of the state is almost dry. Districts such as Pune, Parbhani, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Nashik are dry and sunny and same is likely to continue throughout the day. Temperatures will remain in lower 30’s giving another reason for the people of the state to rejoice the visarjan celebration.
Though Akola and Chandrapur may be a little warm otherwise the weather is anticipated to remain comfortable.
