Except for Marathwada, the Southwest Monsoon has performed exceptionally well in the other three meteorological divisions of Maharashtra. Also when the withdrawal time is near, rains have been going on with good intensity in many parts of the state.

During the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain was recorded in Vidarbha, while scattered rains appeared in Marathwada. While moderate intensity rain was seen in parts of Madhya Maharashtra. On the contrary, rain in Pune and Mumbai remained light.

In a span of 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Gondia and Washim have recorded 46 mm of rainfall each, followed by Parbhani 45 mm, Buldana 43 mm, Matheran 39 mm and Nashik 23 mm.

According to Skymet Weather, scattered moderate rains would continue over Vidarbha. Some places in the region may witness heavy spells. Meanwhile, parts of North Madhya Maharashtra such as Nashik may receive moderate spells of rain, but Pune will witness light rains for another 24 hours.

On the other hand, Monsoon would remain mainly subdued in Marathwada and in other parts of Madhya Maharashtra. The intensity of rain would increase in Konkan and Goa by today evening and for the next two to three days, moderate showers with few heavy spells may lash the region. Likewise, Mumbai rains would increase.

After 24 hours, the rainfall activities would reduce over Vidarbha and Marathwada and the only division which would continue to receive rains would be Konkan and Goa.
