Good amounts of rain recorded in North India, more rain likely in the next 24 hours

Good amounts of winter rain has been received at different places in North India in the last 24 hours. Amritsar in Punjab recorded 41 mm of rain while Kota in Rajasthan recorded 30 mm of rain in this period. Gwalior and Guna in Madhya Pradesh and Hisar in Haryana also received rain while Bareilly in west Uttar Pradesh recorded traces of rain in this period. According to the latest updates, Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir is still receiving snowfall while Gwalior and Guna in plains are also witnessing rain at the moment. Weather forecast suggests that more rain could be received in these parts of the country including the national capital Delhi during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Fog in Delhi and other parts of northwest plains remained better compared to last two days. East India over east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar had a poor visibility with Gorakhpur recording nil visibility for some time this morning. Allahabad and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and Patna and Gaya in Bihar witnessed dense fog conditions that affected Delhi-Howrah train routes. With rain expected during the next two days, fog conditions would get better in these areas during while it rains.
