Haryana Rains

The state of Punjab and Haryana have been witnessing on and off Monsoon rains throughout the Monsoon season. In fact, several areas did record good rains on several occasions as well. However, the last few days were almost dry and warm for both the states and temperatures had also witnessed a rise resulting in warm weather conditions.

This was due to the axis of the Monsoon trough persisting over the central parts of the country. However, isolated rains did occur due to the presence of easterly winds over the region.

Fortunately, in a turn of events, rain gods have once again decided to bestow some kindness over the residents of both the states of Punjab and Haryana and good showers have made an appearance over isolated areas.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the northward shifting of the Axis of the Monsoon trough which is now running in proximity of Haryana. A Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir which is also affecting the intensity of rainfall over the Northern Plains.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains are expected to continue over both these states for the next two to three days. Cities of Chandigarh, Patiala, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Amritsar, Gurdaspur may receive good showers.

Thereafter also while the axis of the Monsoon trough wil shift towards the foothills of Himalayas but it will keep oscillating north and south which is why scattered rains are expected throughout the week.
