During the last 24 hours, not much rain activity was observed in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Jharkhand on the other hand did record some rainy spells.

During the past 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Bareilly recorded 52 mm of rains, followed by Jamshedpur 32 mm, Bhagalpur 24 mm, Chaibasa 12 mm, Ranchi 8 mm, Bokaro 4 mm, Gaya 4 mm and Daltonganj 3 mm.

The reason for these rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is over Coastal Odisha and is likely to move towards Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh.

Weathermen at Skymet Weather expect rains to increase over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the next 24 hours. Varanasi, Sultanpur, Allahabad, Azamgarh, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur and Gazipur will settle with good Monsoon rains.

Further, we expect rains to increase over western parts of Uttar Pradesh from September 21 and will continue till 24. Places like Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ferozpur, Bareilly, Meerut and Muzaffrnagar may see good rains during that time.
