March 30, 2015 4:49 PM |

Weather in GujaratPeople across Gujarat breathed a sigh of relief as day temperatures registered a significant drop, bringing much needed respite from the heat wave across the state.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, a fresh Western Disturbance over North India and an induced cyclonic circulation over Gujarat and Rajasthan have given isolated rain in the state. In wake of the system, there has been a change in wind pattern that has led to drop in temperatures.

The day temperatures, which have been settling above the 40-degree mark, are now settling close to normal or even below normal. Moreover, nights have also become slightly cooler, though minimum temperatures are still settling above average.

Let us have a look at the temperatures across various cities in Gujarat:

Please note: Temperatures in °C

According to the latest forecast by Skymet, the temperatures are not expected to increase for next two to three days as another Western Disturbance and induced cyclonic circulation is approaching the region.

Gujarat usually witnesses day temperatures in high thirties during the last week of March, but this year temperatures have surpassed 40°C, making it one of the hottest pockets in the country.
