weather in Haryana

As predicted by Skymet Weather, fairly widespread rain and thundershowers lashed parts of Haryana during the last 24 hours. Hailstorm activities were also reported from many parts of the state. In fact, this has been the first good spell of winter rain for the state.

According to Skymet Weather, with thunderclouds still persisting, on and off showers are likely to continue in Hisar, Bhiwani, Jhajjar and Rohtak districts for another 24 hours. There is a possibility of hailstorm at one or two places today as well.

The reason for these rains can be attributed to the induced Cyclonic Circulation over North Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana in the wake of a fresh Western Disturbance over the Himalayas.

Whenever there is a combination of these two systems, if affects Haryana in the form of rains. And this has been the scenario since the beginning of November month. Scattered rains have already been recorded between November 4 and 8, however, with lesser intensity as compared to the ongoing spell.

After the passage of the current Western Disturbance, temperatures are likely to drop significantly as northerly cold winds would resume. Winter chill would grip as minimums may drop to single digits. The state might also see frequent formations of ‘moderate to dense’ fog November 28 onward.
