Winters have arrived in full swing over Northwest India, with minimum temperatures settling below normal at several places. In fact, the cold wave has even gripped several parts of northwestern plains quite early this season.
According to Skymet Weather, moderate cold winds from north and northwest direction have been blowing over northwestern plains for the last many days. As a result, minimum temperatures have been dropping continuously across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR.
Last 24 hours saw these cool winds reaching central and eastern parts of the country as well. This led to significant drop in night temperatures across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal.
