Haryana Weather: Rohtak, Narnaul, Gurugram to witness more pre-Monsoon rains

Since the last week, weather conditions over Haryana have remained dry and humid, but last 24 hours have seen some good pre-Monsoon showers. Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday,

Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Rohtak recorded 22 mm of rainfall, Narnaul 10 mm, Bhiwani 6 mm and Gurgaon 3.2 mm.

Further, these on and off pre-Monsoon showers will continue to occur over many districts of Haryana. At present also, Rohtak, Panipat, Sonepat, Faridabad, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, Rewari, and Jhajjar may receive rain and thundershower activities during the late afternoon or evening hours.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough is seen running from Punjab up to northeast India across Haryana. With this, the intensity of rainfall and thundershower activities over the region may increase further during the next 24 to 48 hours. Moreover, a Western Disturbance is also seen persisting over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Due to these weather systems, the intensity of rainfall is likely to increase over northern plains including Haryana.

As on June 18, Haryana was surplus by 114% rainfall. Thereafter, these on and off pre-Monsoon rains will pick up the pace.

These pre-Monsoon showers will be beneficial for the state, as the soil moisture may increase and the ground water will then get restored. By this, the benefit will also be given to the growth of Kharif crop.

The Southwest Monsoon is likely to make an early onset over parts of Haryana by the last week of June. thereafter, the temperatures will fall marginally but the humidity may increase further.
