The weather condition across most parts of the country have made stepping out in sun at this time of the year pretty difficult. In fact, it’s time to agree to the fact that summer has finally arrived.

In fact, most parts of the country are witnessing extremely hot and dry weather conditions from quite a few days now. Regions like Vidarbha, Marathwada, and states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, and parts of Madhya Pradesh have been observing temperatures even surpassing the 40-degree mark.

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for the ongoing hot weather conditions over parts of India can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system. Thus, dry and warm weather prevailed leading to heatwave conditions.

Regions like Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Barmer, Jalore in Southwest Rajasthan, Indore, Khandwa, Ratlam and Betul in West Madhya Pradesh also including almost the entire Vidarbha and Gujarat except the coastal areas are been engulfed under heatwave conditions.

So much so, that in the last 24 hours, the list of top ten cities includes six districts from Maharashtra. On Sunday, Akola and Malegaon in Maharashtra witnessed temperatures soaring at 42.8 and 42.4°C, while Deesa in Gujarat recorded 42°C, Barmer also witnessed the day’s temperature settling at 41.9°C.

Moreover, a few places over Chhattisgarh, interior Odisha and including isolated places over Andhra Pradesh are also reeling under heat wave-like conditions.

Skymet Weather also reiterates that at present, no significant weather system is being foreseen and hence the temperatures may rise significantly over these areas. Due to this, heatwave may cover some more parts of the country.

And thus, no relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions is likely until the month end.
